Linda is a lower school teacher at Seven Rivers and assists in coaching the Seven Rivers bike team. After teaching in the Albemarle County school system for 17 years, Linda joined the Seven Rivers community in 2020. In addition to classroom teaching, she also taught private lessons in her piano studio for 10 years to students of all ages. Linda especially loves exploring individual children’s interests, guiding project based experiences, and engaging children in exciting, hands-on, real-world learning.  She feels that there’s no better place for this than outside in nature as part of a nurturing community.  Linda received her BA and education degree from Mary Baldwin University with a major in piano performance.

Linda’s youngest son, a Seven Rivers graduate, became very involved with mountain biking through Cutaway Bike Camp teams at Miller School. As a result, Linda renewed her love of biking as well. She has her Level 1 Nica Coaching License and assists coaching at Seven Rivers as well as Monticello High School, where her son currently attends.

When Linda is not teaching and coaching she loves to be outside hiking and biking with her family. Linda and her husband, Mark, are parents to two boys. They enjoy their time together attending and supporting a variety of sporting events the boys are involved in, including soccer, biking, lacrosse, and golf.
